We are looking for a senior Linux sysadmin who is very driven and hands on but able understand the complexities and issues arising from a rapidly growing 24/7 web service and how to break them down into projects for more junior staff and to mentor them through the steps.
This is a small and very well funded company that has been developing an advanced platform which is about to go fully live and experience exponential growth. So a Linux Sysadmin needs to be flexible, a good learner with a strong sense of ownership of the infrastructure and services.
The ideal Linux Systems Administrator will also have an appreciation of the software development cycle / SDLC and some empathy with your developer colleagues who will need to work with you on frequent code-release cycles, roll-outs and
testing. Experience of performance-tuning, profiling and diagnostic techniques will be useful too.
The site is 24/7 and the role will involve significant on call responsibilities, working with colleagues in different time zones (LA and San Francisco for instance). So you'll need a flexible attitude to working hours to work in this great environment, with a fantastic team on projects that offer a sysadmin genuine job satisfaction.
