My client is an International Logistics and Supply Chain Management Company (150 staff Worldwide) with offices in the UK and Asia. This is a long established firm with international reach but maintaining a personal, friendly working environment
We are currently seeking an IT Adminstrator - The IT Administrator’s role is to manage and tune key internal systems, such as CargoWise and Silver Bullet, to support current business requirements and future strategy. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. The IT Administrator role will report into Director of IT/MIS and also have a dotted line relationship to the Regional Management Team in order that local IT issues are addressed and solutions project managed whilst maintaining focus on supporting the developing Asia business.
Key areas of responsibility
To become the CargoWise and Origin System "Super User" To provide local IT leadership on the ground in the HK office (Single point of contact) Participate in and support planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems in conjunction with end-users and department managers Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. Perform security audits. Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system problems for staff and customers. Escalate incidents as necessary. Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of system development. Create required reports in response to business user needs. Participate in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and services. Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use. Manage and/or provide guidance to all of the team. Internal and external training of new system developments Active participation in System User Groups Management of and liaison with external suppliers
Knowledge & Experience
Working technical knowledge of network, PC, Logistics ERP systems (preferably CargoWise) and Citrix Extensive application support experience with Logistics ERP systems Working technical knowledge of origin focused Logistics processes Strong knowledge of customer requirements Hands-on troubleshooting experience. Experience with data management. Experience documenting and maintaining issue logs etc. Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. Good understanding of Microsoft Excel, Macros etc
Personal Attributes
Written and spoken fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin and English languages essential Strong customer service orientation. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills. Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals. Ability to conduct research into issues and problems as required. Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language. Highly self motivated and directed. Keen attention to detail. Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Ability to travel to Asia region and other Worldwide sites
